Recipe Tests

 Used butternut squash rather than carrots -- turned out to be a very moist and tasty cake!

Corey named it a "Tortizza" -- this one I created with artichokes, parmesan, ricotta, and olive oil baked on a tortilla.

A Day in Denver

 After shopping at Tattered Cover Bookstore and H&M, we jumped on the shuttle down the 16th Street Mall to happy hour at Cholon for their orange blossom drink, shrimp toast and soup dumplings (more like french onion, than asian, soup).

Stopped by the Denver Art Museum on their (insanely busy) free first Saturday, to see the amazing El Anatsui retrospective.

 After a quick trip to Kilgore book store to check on the status of my friend's awesome zines (all gone but 1!), we ended the night at City, O City vegan restaurant for a drink (above: City Sage with Old Overholt Rye, Earl Grey and Lavender simple syrup, bitters and sage -- out of this world!!!) and some munchies, the Fritto Misto (below: fried artichoke hearts, broccoli, pickles, mushrooms) and Saison sandwich.
A packed full, wonderful day!

(plus risotto, salad and chicken)
