NYC 2011

Tara Donovan at Pace is a must see -- amazingly beautiful celestial pin drawings... saw Chuck Close at her opening Friday night. Also went to Ellsworth Kelly opening... and more...

intimate and expansive Anish Kapoor at the Met, next to another favorite of mine...

El Anatsui

Dim Sum in chinatown with fab company... fun and tasty weirdness

oysters and a sake/ginger/cucumber drink at the Lure Bar in SOHO ... to die for...
(who uses all the sauces? just a little lemon is heavenly)

We packed as much as we could into 3ish days in NYC:

dinner at Song -- Thai in Park Slope ***
~~~
doughnuts from the Doughnut Plant on Essex *****
(flavors of these amazing gourmet treats we indulged in: vanilla bean filled with raspberry, tres leches, creme brulee, meyer lemon, ginger Chinese New Year)
Lynda Benglis and George Condo exhibitions at the New Museum *****
Dim Sum in Chinatown in some banquet hall with huge chandeliers ***
Sergej Jensen was my favorite at P.S.1 in Queens ****
dinner at John's Pizzeria in the West Village ****
~~~
breakfast at Grey Dog Coffee *

cheese & salami at Murray's Cheese Shop *****

tea from McNulty's Tea Shop *****

oysters & a drink at Lure Bar in SoHo ****

Tara Donovan drawings, Ellsworth Kelly, erotic Japanese prints, Philip-Lorca diCorcia photos and more in Chelsea ***

Tibetan dinner at Tsampa in the East Village ***
~~~
coffee and a scone at Grand Central, shopping at H&M ***
lunch at Ooki Sushi on the UES ****
Modernist exhibition at the Guggenheim ***
coffee and dessert (Crumb's Bakery chocolate cupcake) in the American Wing of the MET, then a quick tour of the Modern wing and more... ****
