A Sad Day

Sometimes a shadow wins. -Sarah Bareilles

A friend's facebook post:
"The only thing I can think to do is start volunteering. Keep people safe. Be it the way people love, the gender they identify with, the Diety to which they pray, the manner of their dress, the color of their skin, or where they or their ancestors called home at one time, scary times are coming. Make them your family. Defend their voices. Stand up for their loved ones. Be an ally. Rally for peace. Be a model of environmental stewardess.

Build yourself into such a flame that we drive out the -phobias, the fear of change, the resistance to new ways, the rejection of people who live a different life, and the willful ignorance of the reality of the world we're destroying. Educate, protect, speak out, stand up, act, donate, write ...

Be brave. Be the light.

We can drive this shadow back."
