I created three maps for the book Take Me to the River by Kolster.  They are minimal, line drawings of the James River, Savannah River, and Schuykill River. His photographs are stunning! I'm honored to have my maps in this book!

Meow Wolf

I celebrated my birthday by going to Santa Fe's Meow Wolf. An incredible experience! There were so many layers to this immersive art space -- a house built inside an old, abandoned bowling alley... rooms that lead to strange, trippy places... fireplace leads to some magical cave... a kid bursts through the fridge -- wait, what? Exactly! The laser harp room was my favorite -- I felt transported out to space... and then there was the mini-Turrell-inspired dome that captured my heart.

Homemade pickles, a dress, and more filled this lovely weekend.

We finally had a chance to see John Sabraw's beautiful work at the Idea Space, Colorado College (on the last day - March 5th). It is truly exquisite, representing the micro to the macro. I could see petri dishes, views through a microscope, a snapshot of these broken Appalachian streams, all the way out to the galaxy and views of cosmic clouds. Here is a great article in the Independent about the whole exhibition, and a video about John's process. 

I can't help but wonder what my experience at Ohio University would have been like had he been my teacher, since I also create poured paintings, and care deeply about the environment.
